Nobody else could have played Severus like Alan Rickman. He IS Severus. He’s the reason Snape is my favorite character. Just from reading the first book you don’t have a clue that there’s anything nice about Snape. Every paragraph he’s in is about him being a dick to Harry or Quirrel. You spent that whole damn book thinking Snape was the one doing this to Harry and he just wasn’t nice. But oh, the first time I saw HPSS. From the very first moment you see him in the hall. When he bursts into the classroom and gives his speech. I knew there was so much more to him. It’s in his every expression and that takes an actor of such talent and skill. And I’ve been obsessed, ever since.
